Installation of Walls

1. Prepare Your Drawings
   • Manufacturing Drawings: These detail which log goes where—keep them handy as you lay each row.
   • Engineering Drawings: These specify screw placement, tie-downs, and other structural requirements based on wind region and local conditions.
2. Understand Screw and Tie-Down Requirements
   • Check Specific Requirements: Refer to the engineering drawings to see if screw tie-downs are necessary.
   • Place Screws Correctly: Follow the recommended spacing to ensure the logs are firmly secured. This makes it easier to build up rows quickly and keep everything straight.
3. Stacking Logs in Sprints
   • 4-5 Rows at a Time: Build your wall in short sprints, stacking a few rows before checking for level.
   • Use a Spirit Level: After each sprint, confirm the logs are level. Adjust using a soft hammer or screws to tighten the logs into position.
4. Dealing with Warped Logs
   • Common Occurrence: Occasionally logs can warp, but this can be corrected.
   • Screw Incrementally: Secure the warped section at multiple points, gradually bringing the log back in line. Over time, the log will settle into the correct shape.
5. Top Rows and Beams
   • Strength at the Top: Check the engineering drawings to see if the top two logs must be screwed together at a specified spacing.

By keeping both your manufacturing and engineering drawings at hand, you’ll ensure each log is placed accurately and securely. Taking the time to align each sprint of rows sets you up for a smooth build and a sturdy, long-lasting structure.
